What do you get when you cross a GSD with a Poodle? by DebiSue on 22 March 2012 - 22:38 |
Echo had hip resection done on Friday...this pic was taken on Sunday. My brother suggested I shave her other side and say she is a shepadoodle. LOL |

| I must say DebiSue, she looks to have a marvelous attitude about the whole thing! I wish her a speedy recovery. I think Slamdunc has a curly wig he might lend you, to help with the new shepadoodle look. He completes it with sunglasses, but you'll probably have to get a cheap pair of your own. |

| Yes, SHE is. The vet told me that there are two large muscles that are normally cut to access the femoral head and he decided to work around them instead. He did have to cut a couple of small ones and re-attach them afterwards. He was curious to know when she would attempt to stand on it...Saturday evening. She is walking on it but if she wants to hurry she picks it up for now. We start physical therapy in another week after the stiches come out. I made a sling for her to help her up two steps and she was done with it by Monday. She even jumps up on her loveseat all by herself, little stinker. We don't have to use a cone on her. She is totally ignoring the incision. I am so glad we did the surgery. She was in a lot of pain and the bone that was removed was UG-LY. Very rough and alien looking. No wonder she started hobbling around after training. 3.5 years is kinda young to have to do this. |

| What a beautiful girl she is! Sweet face, you'd never know there was any pain, and that's why the breed is so noble. Good luck with the Physical Therapy, we wish the sweet girl a speedy recovery! |

| Wishing the best for Echo's recovery. She is such a pretty girl and what a great attitude she has. BTW, a few years back when I advertised in the PDB classifieds that I was looking for a coated GSD puppy I actually had someone contact me about his Shepadoodles. He sent me pics and everything. Yikes! I was quite surprised that anyone woud do this. Fortunately the Shepadoodles haven't taken off like the other doodle dogs. |

| Awww, she is doing really well. The post topic gave me a scare. I cannot think ofanything uglier than a GSD POODLE cross. Would be really smart though. :) |
